DAHIVALI.

Dahivali, a village of 1239 people on the east bank of the half a mile north of Karjat, was formerly the head-quarters of a sub-division. There are two or three large temples, one of which a large handsome building dedicated to Vithoba, has the following inscription on a stone to the north of the temple: ' Parvatibai Pimpalkhare, Gotra Vashishtha, Shak 1714' (A.D. 1792), ' Vaishakh Shuddha 13th Tuesday, son Bhikaji, grandson Yisoba, resident of Dahivali.'
