Yevat, on the Peninsula railway twenty-six miles east of Poona,
with in 1881 a population of 1539, has a station with to its south a travellers' bungalow. The 1880 railway returns showed 12,014 passengers and no goods. The Khadakvasla canal flows close to Yevat and there is also a large storage pond called Matoba which irrigates a considerable extent of land and is fed by the canal in the neighbourhood. [Mr. J. G. Moore, C. S.] |
